“Sister Survivor” Phase II is a multi-county healthy lifestyle program designed for and by African-American women that provides relevant health education and awareness in regard to breast cancer, encourages participants to obtain all recommended screenings, provides guidance on obtaining financial assistance for screenings, offers emotional and spiritual support, and provides opportunities for physical fitness activities during monthly meetings.
“Sister Survivor” Phase II is funded by the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Mid-Missouri Affiliate Community Grant program and is currently being offered in the four Central Missouri counties of Randolph, Audrain, Chariton, and Howard. The project partners include the Minority Ministries Community Coalition, the Northeast Alliance Advisory Coalition of the Office of Minority Health, Northeast Missouri Clergy Coalition, and a select group of African-American Churches in each county.
